Bengaluru, Jun 24: The Karnataka authorities has issued a big order banning using synthetic colours in kabab, fish, and rooster dishes throughout the state. This resolution follows the gathering and lab testing of kabab samples from 36 areas in Karnataka, which revealed the presence of synthetic colours like yellow and carmoisine. The Meals Security and Requirements Authority of India (FSSAI) took this resolution to guard public well being, as synthetic colours in meals can have dangerous results.

Beforehand, the Meals Security and Requirements Division of Karnataka had banned using synthetic colours in cotton sweet and gobi manchurian after dangerous chemical substances have been detected within the synthetic colours utilized in these meals. FSSAI collected samples of cotton sweet and gobi manchurian from over 170 areas throughout the state and located carcinogenic chemical substances within the synthetic colours.

Dangerous chemical substances

In cotton sweet, the dangerous chemical rhodamine B was detected, whereas gobi manchurian contained sundown yellow and tartrazine. Because of the presence of those chemical substances, using synthetic colours was banned.

Rhodamine B and its ill-effects

Rhodamine B is a chemical used within the textile, paper, and leather-based industries for purple and pink coloring. When ingested by means of meals, this chemical can result in most cancers.
