Searches by the Medication Management Administration (DCA) on June 25 and 26 uncovered medication manufactured and offered beneath the guise of ‘meals merchandise’ or ‘nutraceuticals.’

The DCA officers from Siddipet zone recognized ‘Calgrip’ tablets purportedly containing calcium citrate 1000 mg, magnesium 100 mg, zinc mono 4 mg and vitamin D3 2000 IU. These tablets, nonetheless, have been produced beneath a meals licence (FSSAI licence) and misrepresented as a meals product or nutraceutical, in line with a DCA assertion.

The tablets have been discovered to have been manufactured illegally at Anura Therapeutic Personal Restricted in Hayathnagar, Rangareddy District, and marketed by Gripkem Laboratories Personal Restricted in Laxmi Nagar, Secunderabad, the DCA mentioned.

The company added that ‘Calgrip’ should be manufactured beneath a drug licence issued beneath the Medication and Cosmetics Act, adhering strictly to the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) outlined in Schedule-M of the Medication Guidelines. Moreover, these merchandise should meet the standard requirements set forth within the Indian Pharmacopoeia (IP).
